How Full is Your Bucket

Hi Readers~
This morning I opened my mail box to find an e-mail from George Gallop, Jr. of the Gallup Organization introducing a new book hitting shelves today. This apparent quick read is called "How Full is Your Bucket? Positive Strategies for Work and Life" co-authored by the inventor of Strengths Finder and co-author of Now, Discover Your Strengths. At the website I found out more. It is a book that uses a simple metaphor about a dipper and a bucket and decades of research to show how even the briefest interactions affect your relationships, productivity, health, and longevity. There are some interesting interactive tools such as A Drop For Your Bucket where you can send a drop to help fill someone's else's bucket, the Positive Impact Test with 15 questions to test your positive impact, and Bucket Filling Reminders to remind you to fill the bucket of others. Here's what a few others are saying about the book:

"This slender volume offers an abundance of insights and inspiration. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to dramatically improve their work life and strengthen their relationships."
-- Deepak ChopraAuthor of the best-selling books The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success and The Spontaneous Fulfillment of Desire

"An insightful ‘can't put it down' . . . literary gem. . . Indeed, a winner!"
-- Willard ScottNBC's Today show

"The Grandfather of Positive Psychology, Don Clifton, and his grandson, Tom Rath, offer illuminating wisdom for fulfilling work and for a meaningful life."
-- Martin E.P. Seligman, Ph.D.Former President of the American Psychological Association and author of the best-selling books Authentic Happiness and Learned Optimism

While I have not yet read this book I am a fan of Don O. Clifton's work and would expect this to be another winner...and no... I am not getting paid to pass this info on to you. The website is definitely worth checking out @ www.bucketbook.com . Let me know what you think.

And let me attempt to fill your bucket today in saying that right within you at this time you have the ability to gently shake the world. You are great right now!

Bye for now~ Beth

Blessings of a Terminal Disease

Hi Readers~
Sorry I have been away. My father passed away early in July. I am back now, and feeling more inspired than ever. Witnessing my father deal with his terminal illness and mom handling all the details has made a huge shift for me that I hope will benefit you. Exercising has never been easier after knowing that dad continued to choose to go to physical therapy daily...even though the last 2 days he was hooked up to oxygen. The only reason he stopped was that his physical therapist went on vacation. Talk about inspiring! Anyway... I will put the details into another post another time...just wanted you to know I am back and have some great info to pass to you in the next post.
